A Movie Buzz

I'm back from my reunion tour in Seattle and now I have so many things to do back here in La La Land... one of which is to see this frickin' movie which is playing midnight shows this weekend in LA - my pals who love the scary flicks say this is one of, if not THE scariest movie they've ever seen.... Here's the trailer to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

A Few Of My Favorite Things

Here we are again celebrating the things that I love - so let's start with two of my favorite things - food and TV...

Last night was the season premiere of The New Adventures Of Old Christine, and I'm sure it's been one of my favorites before but I frickin' love this show. Julia Louis Dreyfuss is HI-larious and I don't know why, but I totally relate to her 40 something divorcee, plus Wanda Sykes is in it and everyone on the show is great! It makes me laugh out loud like so many other sitcoms do not do.

Then there's Palermo's Italian Restaraunt in Los Feliz, which I always forget until someone invites me to it for a celebration. Yesterday was a birthday celebration for one of my pals at the restaraunt. The food is sooo good, the atmosphere is fun and the neighborhood is great. Right in the heart of the Los Feliz area, it's two blocks from where I lived when I first moved to LA.

Which brings us to our last favorite of the week - Seattle, Washington. How does that relate to a random pizzaria in LA?? Well the apartment I had when I first moved to LA and lived just two blocks away from that pizzeria was shared with my pal Brian. Actually it was his apartment and I just crashed there, but he moved to Seattle and tomorrow the Leivas and I are heading up to the land of the Space Needle for a reunion with Brian and my pal Patrick from Orange Television. I spent all my time in the world known as Couer d'Alene, Idaho with Brian and Patrick. Patrick got me started into making my own music and helped create Swivek and this will be the first time I will have seen him since I moved in 2000. That's a lot of time and it's going to be one hell of a time... oh and I've been to Seattle many times and no generally love it too - but it's the people I'm meeting in Seattle that's truly one of my favorite things.

Random Photo

Well I'm a tad tired today, my weekend was so eventful let me tell you. Friday night the Leivas and I headed to our friend Brian's house where my man was suckered into changing Brian's refrigerator door... as a kid I always dreamed I would have a husband who was able to fix things while I just sat back, drank and looked pretty... see kids, dreams do come true.

Saturday - Brian and his boyfriend Patrick met the Leivas and I for brunch which turned into an all afternoon drunk. I believe I made it home around 6 pm and woke up at 4:15 am in my clothes and thirsty for water.

Sunday I woke up at 8 in the morning and didn't do much of anything until my pals Marc and Devin came over and we swam and hot tubbed until it was time to go to a show - the Beat, Pansy Division and the Avengers! It was an awesome show! Of course we went to see Pansy Division but everyone's show was great.

Which brings us to our Monday random photo - here's a pic of three of the four Pansy Divsions in full on splendor (thanks to Marc and his fast moving camera action)

A Few Of My Favorite Things

A few of my favorite things this week:

P!nk's fly highing performance of "Sober" on the VMAs last Sunday:

P!nk - New Music - More Music Videos

The film Coraline - absolutely lovable - dark and dingy like The Corpse Bride but funny and hilarious (thanks to Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders to name a few) and hilarious animation of Teri Hatchetface.. Rent it - you'll love it. We rented it in 3D and thanks to the glasses they gave us in the Blu Ray for My Bloody Valentine 3D we got to see it in all its glory.

and finally today is the birthday of one of my all time fav celebrities - Miss Cassandra Peterson or Elvira, the Mistress of the Dark. If you haven't seen her 1988 film or Elvira's Haunted Hills, you're only abusing yourself...

My good pal Amy C makes a week and month log list of goals she hopes to attain so I thought what the hey I'll try too. Sure her's are about running a gazillionthon or climbing Mount Everest by next Saturday and stuff like that but hey i have goals too so let's see how we'll do..

1. Try to coordinate a photo shoot for the new Swivek album (this shouldn't be as hard as it sounds)
2. Finish watching my favorite TV classics on DVD - I finished all the episodes of Rhoda and only have three more episodes of Three's Company season 4 before I try to watch and finish, The Mary Tyler Moore Show seasons 1-4, Charlie's Angels season 2 before moving onto 3 and all episodes from all three seasons of Wonder Woman.
3. Walk downstairs, turn the key in the knob of the apartment gym and work out*
4. Sign up for a yoga class*
5. Don't drink any alchohol until my trip to Seattle next Friday*
6. Put the new CDs I bought into alphebetical order on the CD shelf

Coming Soon

I was perusing over my Amazon Recommendations list when I stumbled upon a new album that is coming out next month.... I was so frickin' excited I just had to let you all know...

Miss Lita Ford - the woman who brought me a karaoke anthem in "Kiss Me Deadly" and the uber cool "Close My Eyes Forever" not to mention "Playin' With Fire", "Lisa" and a whole slew of other jams has her first album in like umpteen years coming out .. "Wicked Wonderland" hits the bins next month and I can't wait!

Until then let's take a look at a little classic Lita (which may or may not be a sort of inspiration for Britney's 'If You Seek Amy' video)

The Hot & Not So Hot

You want to know what's really hot? Tonight at Here Lounge in West Hollywood, my pals and excellant performers the Boofant Sisters will be performing (at about 9pm for those around La La Land) - it's a party and performance for Miss Tammie Brown's birthday and that my pals is hot. Check out a performance from the gals:

and the not so hot - that meglomaniac Kanye West screwing with Taylor Swift - who I could really give a rip about but still when I win my VMA for the still unfilmed video for "Rock Hard" I'll slap the bitch who tries to run up during my speech.

Hot Bastage Of The Week

I can't believe I haven't made this week's hot bastage a Hot Bastage Of The Week before but I guess he wasn't looking as hot as usual until just recently...

and of course he's looking hot again cuz the boy has a new album coming out and new single called "Bodies" - from the forthcoming album Reality Killed The Video Star - that's right this week's Hot Bastage is ROBBIE WILLIAMS!

I saw Robbie in concert once in Seattle and he wanted me so bad, I could tell the way he looked at me when he sang.. it was really too much for him to handle.

You can watch the full video for Bodies on his website - where you can also pre-order the new album. Let's all hope he has a big hit cuz my boy needs to come to LA and do a little tour - in his undies - in my bedroom.

Fall Back To TV

I guess with Labor Day, the summer is officially over though I happen to live in the land of perpetual sunshine so it's not really over for me.... but that doesn't mean the Leivas and I won't be curling up together in front of the boob tube (more than usual anyway) and tonight is the beginning of a 2-fer on Wednesdays...

My fav summer series So You Think You Can Dance is now coming to fall TV and the premiere is on tonight - so you guys have enough advance warning to check it out - it is THE best of the reality competition shows, it's just really good and entertaining...

and then (gasp) then (gasp) is the premiere of Glee - The Series, it debuted last May with a one night show and it was so FRICKIN' GOOD - I can't even tell you how entertaining this series about a high school glee club is - it is so brillz it even has Jane Lynch as a bitchy cheerleading coach.. you're going to love it... and for all kinds of Glee Goodness check out their website where you can even watch last may's first episode in its entirety.. and check out the show tonight - they're both on FOX starting at 8/7 central time...

you'll thank me in the morning.

What would the world be without Charo?

A Few Of My Favorite Things

It's Thursday and time to look at a few of my favorite things...

When I was a kid we had Cinemax and they would play the same movies over and over, Coal Miner's Daughter, 9 To 5, Doctor Zhivago, Xanadu - all of them seemed to be on repeat.. and then there was one more that always seemed to be on - a little flick called Headin' For Broadway and I loved it! Though imagine my recent horror to find out Rex Smith was in it, for some reason I don't remember him at all, but I do remember Terri Treas being in it, she would go on to bbe one of the whores in The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas and one of the aliens in V. Anyhoos, here's the opening sequence and some shorts after .... I want this movie!

A recent addition to the On Demand is a little TV show called Jeffrey and Cole's Casserole is a hilarious little TV show now on Logo. It's filmed like it's made for Public Access and the guys are a complete riot... I love it. Check out a preview and more on Logo Online.

And finally for those upcoming fall days, there's nothing like a good book to curl up with, and why not make it a vampire book by Adrienne Barbeau... one of my new all time fav books Vampyre Of Hollywood is coming out in paperback next week and you will love it... It seems there's an Armenian vampiress who runs a small horror film company and is known as a scream queen while a bunch of A listers are being killed - one by having his recently acquired Oscar shoved up his no no hole... it's pretty fun so read it!
