Get Up On The New Swivek Single

Swivek has a brand new single to throw your way. A disco punk fusion of dance sized proportions called "Get Up On It" backed with an electro fused cover of Rachel Sweet's haunting "Billy & The Gun" - its one in a series of virtual 7" being released by Flexible Records.

You can hear and download the music and artwork at the official Flexible Records website at http://www.flexiblerecords.com

Here's the official announcement and review from Flexible Records:

Swivek slips into the release schedule at the last minute with
another entry into Flexible Records series of virtual 7" single
releases (see flex13). "Get Up On It" is fast-paced and motivational, not
unlike a Richard Simmons workout video, only catchier. It's backed
with a cover of Rachel Sweet's obscure psycho-trip
"Billy & the Gun". Spooky!

August 2005

Catchier than a velcro fly and caught in a hard candy rush,
West Hollywood's Swivek return with the highly motivational
"Get Up On It". It's a call to arms for disco-punk
revolution. The track is coupled with an eerie electro take on
Rachel Sweet's psycho obscurity "Billy & A Gun". These two
tracks serve to highlight the hyper yin and chill yang of Bradley
Jacobson's many Swiveky moods.

Look for a new full length from Swivek in the not-to-distant
future.

I posted this under the Rachel Sweet bubbatune as well but thought I'd reiterate this news...

Coming on November 25th is Rachel Sweet's albums "And Then He Kissed Me" and "Blame It On Love" packaged together on one CD! It's very exciting for us Rachel fans.

This news pertains to this Swivek post as it's "And Then He Kissed Me" which contains the original version of "Billy & The Gun." So it could be very exciting. Personally I think Rachel heard the Swivek version and thought she better get her version back out to the public lest she be forgotten..

the album also contains her version of "Shadows Of The Night", one of my favs - "Party Girl", her version of Spider's "Little Darlin'", a song called "Two Hearts Full Of Love" written by Eddie Schwartz who wrote Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and the hit single "Everlasting Love" while "Blame It On Love" contains "Voo Doo" and 9 other songs I've never even heard... so all in all it's exciting news...

other exciting news is I've been working ever so diligently on new Swivek stuff for a full blown album to be released sometime around mid November. So far things are going swimmingly and I have just finishing touches to put on to songs with such titles as "Chained" (a very Pixie ish sounding numer), "What Do You Think About That", "Hey People!" and "All Fall Down", plus things I worked on during the "Get Up On It"/"Billy" time including songs called "Bandbox," "Vengeance Is King" and a Charles Mason co-written ditty called "Come Alive." You'll remember Charles is the lyricist behind "California Boy" and "Cocksure" - so you know it's going to be good!
