Well it's been a long time coming but my first single in many years is finally
out and available for streaming and purchase. "Lonely Calls To You" plus the
bonus track - a cover of Del Shannon's "Runaway" - done up in my own Bradley
style. "Runaway" will only be available on the single.
On Friday the 13th - we released the video for the new song "Lonely Calls To
You" - directed and edited by the amazement that is Devin Tait, we shot on the
Sunset Strip and in Hollywood - two of my favorite places in the world.
Utilizing The Rainbow Bar & Grill, Whiskey a Go Go, Tower Records and of course
the Walk of Fame. I hope you all enjoy it...
It's been forever since I've utilitzed my blog but I thought it was time to come back and see how this goes. I may start updating at least once a week.
That said, I hope I still have readers and fans and friends.
There's actually a lot of exciting things happening in the next few weeks and months. Finally, after 10 years I have new music coming out. The Swivek moniker I've used since 1999 is being replaced by my own name - all new music being released as Bradley Jacobson. I've found in the internet age that 'Swivek' is hard to search for - even my own Alexa won't play my music right away. The new album coming out is called "I Guess I'm Not Alone" and the first single "Lonely Calls To You" will be released in the next few weeks as a lead off. We are currently shooting the video - though the song is called "Lonely Calls To You" and we all have been lonely the last few months, we took a different approach the song and it's a lot of fun and humourous. We shot around my favorite spot - the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood - just blocks from my beloved home... and around Hollywood. We may even see a surprise visitor in the form of one of my favorite pals and painters.

Well, had to delay putting it online til after it airs on the new BOLD TV show "Bold Shorts" next month! Also, for the locals, it'll be shown at the awesome El Cid Short Film night Feb as well! So it's been awhile since there has been a new Swivek album but never fear I'm working on it now. A 13 track set entitled "I GUESS I'M NOT ALONE". The songs featured include songs left off of the EVERYBODY HATES YOU album, plus some old lyrics and themes I've wanted to tackle for awhile. I'm also incorporating my pals Devin Tait of Devin Tait & The Traitors, members of the former Signal Ranch group and my pal Amy Crosby of Shitting Glitter to help out. I'm getting very excited, but first recording must commence.
With Prop 8 getting overturned (once again) today seemed to be the perfect to start recording my song "Wounded." The lyrics and music were written the day after Prop 8 was announced as legal back in 2008 (one month after I got married), I was devastated, hurt, and 'wounded.' But I knew (know) our day will come so I wrote the song.So I wrote it the day after Prop 8 was legal and I'm going to re-record it the day Prop 8 was deemed unconstitutional. Seems perfect.

THE STORY: Welcome to Carlton Heights, the ongoing serial set in the small coastal town where the main residents are married gay couples with the typical problems of every soap icon including infidelity, dark secrets, oversexed sluts living next door and one raving homophobe lunatic who wishes they would all pack up and leave her town.
Writer Bradley Jacobson has created a hybrid of Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives and Queer As Folk, which begins when Dylan and Scott Irving arrive in Carlton Heights. As the Irvings move into a friendly cul-de-sac, they meet their new neighbors - Larry and Zimmy Bustamante, the happy couple with the newborn twins, the Mitchells - sarcastic and unhappy Marty and his sleazy husband Ronald who happens to be Scott's new boss. Then there's sexy and very single Aidan Palmer whose oversexed shenanigans involve both Marty and Larry's husbands.
But suburban drama isn't all that Carlton Heights has to offer, for up on the hillside standing over her town is Ruth Carlton, Aidan's homophobic, foul mouthed grandmother. Ruth watches everyone and everything in the town her husband created with one goal in mind - to rid her beloved haven of the filth she believes is taking over. To help and taunt her all at once is Haley Osbourne - Ruth's nursemaid who also works as the very under talented singer at Marty's coffee shop.
