For The Precious

A few months ago I told you how the Leivas was going to build me the holy grail of CD racks, and he did it. That's my man - he and I picked out the wood, he cut it, he doweled, he glued, he stained and he stained and he stained some more and let I got to (yelp! yaaay!) re- alphabetize my CDs as I had a slew of them I was still buying during the process of building. Oh yes - what a man, what a mighty fine man...

Here's how it used to look in the CD corner:

and here's how it looks now:

Holy Olivia Newtons

Every year the Christopher Street West LA Gay Pride takes place in West Hollywood Park, just two blocks away from my house and I frickin' love it. Sure, it's all about showing off your pride, celebrating the trials and tribulations we've gone through but it's also all day drinking in the hot California sun - music by local and famous bands - lots of half nude hotties - and port a potties galore for those of us with dainty bladders.

In the past few years I've met such notables as Elvira - where I even set up an interview with her; Julie Brown, - the cool one not that downtown beatch, and performers have included Josie Cotton, The Motels, Berlin, Joan Jett, Taylor Dayne and Deborah Harry... and now comes the announcement of this years performers - and on Sunday night for the first time ever in my life I get to see frickin' Olivia Newton-John! Could you die? Could you ever be mellow again? Could you just get physical? I know I'm having a heart attack and there's no recovery for I honestly love that woman. So be there with me on June 7th! I'll be the drunk blonde wandering aimlessly trying to give Olivia my headband.

Hopefully, she'll sing this little ditty and bring all the performers from the video with her!

Rum A Yum Yum

My big plan to have Lisa Hartman week has gone awry so it won't be until next week or maybe even the week after (I know I have a ton (2) of disappointed readers)... and in fact my whole big idea to blog more and more fell to the shit side yesterday when I didn't even blog... but today I am writing you all to let you know I'm still here..

Unfortunetly I'm just barely here as I caught myself a little bug - a bug made of rum and coke. I have been diligently working on 2 frickin' songs that are driving me insane. One of the songs could be so good if I could just figure out what is wrong with it as it is. I re-record and re-arrange and it's still just slightly off...

Which is why as I record and mix and arrange I find myself headed to our bar all every fifth beat. This is also the reason when we recently had guests over there wasn't much to offer in the way of libations as almost (all) the bottles were on the verge of empty.

So this weekend I restocked - I headed to BevMo to replace two bottles of The Leivas' Vodka, buy myself some Strongbow Cider and of course my beloved Captain Morgan. Only they didn't have the big ass wino jugs I like but I found something remotely disturbing yet kind of alluring:

The BevMo version of Captain Morgan, for half the price! So I bought it. Now I can't decide if it's as good as Captain - it's a little sweeter and it gave me a headache on both Sunday morning and this morning - but then again if I had drank half a bottle of Captain Morgan as I did with Miss Admiral Nelson here, then I may have the same headache...

D-Licious

I seem to have just enough time in my so busy schedule at work to peruse one or two celebrity blog sites. Not because I need to know what is going on in the world of Brittney and Lindsay and all the other tired talentless peeps, but because I need a break from my reality every once in awhile.

I used to read Pink Is The New Blog but it got tired very fast - he is a little too ooh ahh about everyone, then I would read Perez Hilton because he was a bit more snarky but now that he is becoming somewhat of a celebrity of his own, it's very tiresome and just one more reason to hate the culture that gives us celebrities with no talent.

Of course almost all of these sites just take the news from the big wiggie TMZ and what they post day and night and then come up with their takes on it, but no one and I mean no one has touched me like Michael D of DListed. It's frickin' hilarous - he seems to live by one of my favorite mottos - "I have no idols, nothing sacred here..." and he hates them all, but with such wi and bitchiness you know he's got to be one of the sassiest little mo fo's next to, oh I don't know a certain blonde I know..

but for proof of his pudding (I don't know what that means and I don't know why I just thought of it) ... here's a little blurb from him today regarding two extremely talented musicians and one bitch who can flip:

Who The Hell Does Fergie Think She Is?

Everyone loves Heart. EVERYONE! If you say you don't, you're lying. Last night on Idols Give Back, Heart performed Barracuda and instead of leaving it at that, Fergie had to come out and ruin it. At least she wore rubber pants. Piss-proof. Seriously, Fergie came out, did a cartwheel and tried to take the shine off of Heart. I soooo wanted Ann just to flick Fergie with her big toe. Ann is a big beautiful woman, so Fergie and her uncontrollable bladder would have went flying into Gaycrest's lap. He would have screamed like a little girl and beat her with his butt plug.

I'm So Friggin Hot

Have you ever had one of those hot days, where you just know you're looking so good and everybody wants you? You know what I'm talking about I'm sure. Well I was NOT having one of those days today as I have some strange scratch on my face - I'm abused I tell you - and the outfit I selected didn't really make me feel all that hot, yet as I walked the Santa Monica Boulevard and headed to work I got a couple looks. I thought, "Oh geez my scratch isn't that noticeable.." and then as I headed to the Pacific Design Center and smoked my smoke I thought I got another couple of looks from the gardener who just kept staring back at me and the security guard.

Then I walked into the PDC thinking, "What the hell, I guess I am all that. I knew people thought I was hot," as two more guys seemed to eye me up. I was ready to send my head shots in for that modeling career that has so far eluded me.

Then I headed to the restroom to rinse out my 'to go' coffee cup and noticed my pants were unzipped. Do you think that just ONE of those frickin' bastards who were staring at me could've told me my pants were unzipped... I guess they were just too blinded by my beauty to even notice.

It's Oh So Ono

I know I have been completely neglecting all 3 of you; my faithful readers but things are a brewing in the Bradley life. First and foremost I am kickin it at the mic and the loops with some new Swivek music coming out this summer. So far the songs are pretty great. I have twiddled down the 17 songs worked on to at the most twelve or at the least 10 really good ones. There are 7 originals and 5 cover songs including some strange surprises. We may even have a professional mixer and masterer involved which means the Swivek sound could be uber cool... and thanks to a new cut I started a few weeks ago we have an album title (and title track) EVERYBODY HATES YOU. I know it's so Swivek-y.

But because of the extra weeks I've been putting into the music, I'm a few weeks behind on Carlton Heights - but don't worry season 2 will eventually be here.

And for our blogs, I am going to start blogging as much as I can - just to see my name up here.. including new Bubbatunes CDs and next week we're going to do a special tribute to a gal I like to call Ciji Dunne -that's right - next week is officially Lisa Hartman week so I'm sure you'll all want to stop in for that..

and now for something extremely special, something I didn't know even existed.. my gal pal dancer uber cool Coco Ono who shakes her shimmy to the sounds of Shitting Glitter (say that ten times while drinking a Capn & Coke) has a frickin' show.. I want a show, or maybe by pimping this I'll get a guest spot.. either way enjoy The Coco Ono Show!
