The Unveiling - Brad's Art Attack

So as I had told you awhile ago, I decided to pick up a paintbrush the other day and to the right is what my demented little artistic mind came up with.

Originally titled "Chaos" as I was working on it, it is now entitled "I Suck" and will become part of a trilogy - "I Suck", "A Little Better" and "I Give Up" so keep your fingers crossed, this little piece of 'art' may be worth something someday.

Who wants to buy it?

Picassabrad

What a weekend... first I drank a bit too much on Friday night as I continued working on the Shitting Glitter song but was interrupted by my own muse and had to work on a few Swivek songs as well... then the phone calls began and the next thing you know I was on the phone with my brother, my cousin and my pal in Wisconsin until 3 o'clock in the morning...

then Saturday was our belated father's day wine gathering at the Leivas' where we drank, we ate, we talked, we drank some more... then a little bit of listening to some new CDs before trotting off to bed...

then yesterday it was hot, hot, hot! Actually it was frickin' steamin' all weekend long but Sunday had me in the house only venturing out to the garage to smoke a few times... and as the Leivas watched some movies and some TV, I decided it was high time I took out those paints, easel and canvas and began painting. I almost finished one of the most god awful things you've ever seen your life this side of a preschool class, but now I'm getting more used to the brushes and stuff and think I can come up with something a tad more to my style and liking - as in a few brush strokes of color with a wide brush that can hang in our living room to add a bit of color...

and of course in between paint strokes, I worked on mixing up the Shitting Glitter and doing some more vocal overdubs and redoing vocals for Swivek. I want the new album to be so good that I keep working on different songs and rearranging songs. This is so hard you know. I need another set of years oh and some backing vocals, looks like I'll be ringin' up those SG guy and gal soon.

and so tonight, I will be painting and mixing music and (maybe just maybe) having a cocktail or two - I have big aspirations to also crank out that Guitar For Dummies DVD and even do a sit up or two - I know, I am a go getter.

The Artist Soon To Be Known As...

Ever since the Leivas informed that I could not paint our living room walls and I would be forced to stare at white walls for the rest of my life, I decided I was going to take up painting. Two years ago I told my little sister and she sent me some little canvases to get started with, then last Christmas I bought myself a whole painting kit with both water color and oil paints. Then the Leivas bought me an easel, he was all set to buy one that cost about $200 until I reminded him that these aspirations of mine come and go and perhaps we should just buy a $30 one until I make up my mind if I want to be the next Picasso.

But since I finally finished up the last two episodes of Carlton Heights (more on that later) I thought it was time to go back to the painting idea. I figure I don't have to be too talented to do what I want to do which is just a plain canvas with a bunch of color painted on it - no Warhol-esque murals of me and the Leivas or anything like that (not yet anyway).

To show the Leivas I do have some experience in this department, I pulled out the one and only painting I've ever done in my life. My mommy paints and one day she had her paints and easel out and I figured - hey I can do that too so I picked up the brush and searched deep in my soul to paint a city scape from a balcony. I thought it only right that I should share it with you - so without further ado, I give you Painting 1 - I know my title leaves so much to the imagination. What was he thinking? What is he trying to say? Why does it look like it was painted by a 3 year old? Is that why it has such a simple name? Converse if you must.
