I have decided there's going to be a new single from the album EVERYBODY HATES YOU before Christmas. Swivek is going to release "Melted Away" as a single with 3 bonus cuts not on the original album. Plus I'm going to try and remix the single version of "Melted Away" slightly.
Also, and way exciting is I'm going to do a video in the next few weeks for the song.
Deedle Records, which is the company I use to distribute the Swivek stuff is also releasing the best of Orange Television - Metalbestos which can be downloaded for free....
Here's to my little brother who had his birthday yesterday - the one year I don't call him is also the one year I sent him a present - so all is good! Happy Birthday Jimmy!
So it was another fairly wild weekend here in La La Land. On Friday, Alf, Rob, Mike and I headed to Universal Citywalk to see the new Harry Potter film. I have only seen the first one I think but I did know I thought it was pretty good so I wasn't too worried about what I figured was a 2 and a half hour movie. It ended up being pretty talky since it's part one of a two parter but it was still good and both Alf and Rob really wanted to see it so it was fun.
Then we went to Gym and ended up closing the place up and the Leivas and I ended up all night long talking and drinking til abuot 6 in the morning. Ah, good times.
On Saturday, the only major plan I had was to go to Amoeba and then we were going to see my pal Devin perform at the Palms. He is in about three bands and it's so interesting to see the different sides of his music; this time around is his solo project Devin Tait & The Traitors so this is probably the closest to Devin's vision of the music he wants to do. He rocked the house, his music is so fun and poppy. We were all totally impressed.
On Sunday, Miss K and Tommy came to WeHo for brunch and we went to Rage where my new friend Chef Izzy is working. I only ate about 3 fries and ended up drinking about a half gallon of Captain Morgan so by the time I went home, I was schnockered and ended up biffing my knee on the sidewalk.. oh the sidewalks of WeHo are filled with blood and stale booze.
I was in bed by 6:30 and slept right through having to get up to work on Monday. I'm still in quite a bit of pain, but at least it was a fun time... so how was your weekend?
I don't excited for too many movies but this movie is playing for one week in LA next week and I must see it! I mean when do you get the chance to say, "You wanna go see the new Mindy Cohn movie with me?" Looks brillz:
Next week is Thanksgiving and it's a little reminder that this year is almost over. As much as I have to be grateful for I have to admit this year was a bit sucky. Last year was great, I had a ton of money in the bank, we went on several vacations and everything moved smoothy. The economy took it's hit on our company (like so many others) and all my commissions pretty much dried up so I'm back to living paycheck to paycheck; and the thing is though I do spend a lot of money on frivilious stuff, most of my savings went to paying my bills as my paychecks barely pay my bills let alone let me live a life I (want to) have been accustomed to.
We aren't too bad off and I'm certainly in a better spot than I have been in my life before but it just sucks. The only way to get out is to try and get a better paying job as I've already discussed raises and the like with my cheap ass boss, but it's so hard to find anything interesting and I'm so close to work - but alas all things will work out and like I said, I'm certainly grateful for what I have and I'm certainly not wanting for anything so it's all good... just feeling a little poor. I guess I could always take that part time job at the Porn store, but I think porn probably pays better - maybe I'll look into that.
So there's two new CDs you must buy for yourself (and those you love) - today P!nk's Greatest Hits comes out and one of my all time favorite Ladies Josie Cotton has a new album "Pussycat Babylon" - check the links and buy!
P!nk is releasing a greatest hits in a few weeks and the first single "Raise Your Glass" an ode to the underdogs and freaks is out now on Amazon and Itunes. A few days ago the video went viral and it's on her website so you NEED to check it out... Love this woman
This week has been a bit of Hell - instead of my normal having fun Happy Hour, calling friends, trying to make music, I have instead been going home, drinking Nyquil watching a ton of TV and waiting for my cold to get over. I hate being sick. I have discovered I would much rather be hungover than have a head cold. I mean why do beautiful people get sick - haven't I paid my dues by all the shade others throw at me just because their jealous? Sometimes life is a bitch... hopefully I'll be better by the weekend.
There's a new band (to me anyway) called Tennis and they are releasing their new album... do you notice any similarities in their album cover? As for the music, the only song I've heard so far reminds me of She & Him - but they are coming to LA so I may have to check them out. You can check them out by clicking HERE.
I had another fantabulous weekend - on Friday, the Leivas and I met Rob out for a few drinks and then Mike, Rob's boyfriend joined us for a couple more drinks. On Saturday Alf, Rob, Mike and I went to the Viper Room to see Devin play drums in the band Invisible Material. Devin's brother Brandon played guitar and his girlfriend Dolly Dagger did a little dancing. It was an awesome show and then we headed to Red Rock, this bar up on the strip where Devin and his boyfriend Dylan joined us. I have the EPs that the band released but they played a couple new songs too, one was called "Candy" and it was awesome. You can join their Reverbnation page or watch the video for "The Folded Page" - my favorite song by the band:
Kermit The Frog says, "It's not easy being green...it seemed the more I learned about the world, the less I felt a part of it. Too small, too different, too green. If anyone is harassing or bullying you, talk to someone. And don't stop talking about it until they do something about it."
I was having the hardest time committing to any kind of Halloween costume so last Thursday I decided to head into Hollywood to go to the Hollywood Halloween & Costume Shop and stop at the Army Surplus store on Hollywood Boulevard. My friend Rob and his boyfriend and I had decided we'd dress up on Saturday as army guys and then do a bigger costume for Sunday's West Hollywood Carnival.
It was a huge mistake to try to drive into Hollywood - I couldn't believe how bad the traffic was and then because I forget I'm not driving to Amoeba Music I missed the La Brea turn and ended up driving up another street to the boulevard. As cops guided us and the crowd was all along the street it occured to me there was probably a movie premiere.
I was right... as I finally was able to turn onto Hollywood Boulevard, there at the Chinese Theater was the set up for the premiere of "Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr. The one side of the street was completely blocked off and on the other side were a gazillion fans waiting to catch a glimpse of someone..
I ended up at a stand still when a black SUV pulled up next to me and Robert Downey Jr. got out of his car. He was right next to me and everyone started taking pictures - so if you're on TMZ or any other fan site you may see a little blonde boy in a little blue Escort freakin out.

SHORT VERSION: Bradley Jacobson is a singer/songwriter, sometime actor, sometime writer, audio engineer and producer, and all around happy dude. He was the singer/songwriter of the electronic trashy punky pop band Swivek, but is now a "solo" artist releasing music under his own name.
