Chasing Kelly

It's been almost a full month since my showroom moved from our own store to the Pacific Design Center and it's pretty much a big bore, though we are a tad busier than before but yesterday was actually quite intriging if only for the chase that I was on.

So I'm not much of a celebrity chaser, in fact I don't even recognize half of the people Alfred insists we have seen - though from blocks away I did recognize Little Leslie Jordan walking down the sidewalk in West Hollywood - in fact there's only a select few that would get me really excited should I encounter them, and how I would love for one or two of them to show up at my work place, but alas it usually doesn't happen - I've met Michael Jackson (crazy!), that red headed chick who went blonde from "That 70's Show" and Patricia Heaton from "Everybody Loves Raymond" before I knew she was a crazy loud mouthed Republican but then something cool happened yesterday.

I went down to the 3rd floor balcony for my morning smoke and noticed this cool looking younger chick come outside and smoke. I thought, "Is that? Could it be? Is it? I think it is..." It was frickin' Kelly Osbourne, or at least I thought so. I didn't want to ask her cause well, I'm just that way, I mean if I asked her if she was Kelly Osbourne and she said "Yes," then what? I can't exactly hug her and say "I frickin' love you! Your music is awesome and people should give you half a chance cuz you rock..." though I guess in hindsight that may have worked.

Well after I thought I saw Kelly, I went back to work and then later as I walked back downstairs to get the mail - this girl and some punk looking guy were riding the escalator behind me, but I couldn't hear what they were saying, so I couldn't tell if she had an English accent or not...

So I sent my co-worker up to the 6th floor to follow them around and let me know if it was indeed Kelly O - he came back to tell me she did in fact have an English accent, so I grabbed my cell phone and ran around the whole frickin' building trying to catch Kelly O and get a pic with her (and hand her my new CD of course) but alas little lass eluded me.... until our next meeting Miss O - I'll be watching you:

BubbaTUNESday

I was going to unleash two new Bubbatunes compilations of country pop divas today but decided instead to give you my latest obsession. The incredible, powerful, insane and moving video of "Gay Bash" by Melange Lavonne.

I had never heard of this woman but she is a homo rapper, actress and model who should be taking the world by storm. This song is intense, though a fictional story it's only fictional in name as so many people have been affected by something like this, a little missive about her friend Kevin who was killed by gay bashers and how the church has hindered and sometimes almost endorsing such acts of violence. Truly great and if anyone can find an mp3 of it, do not hesitate to send it to as I have looked high and low for it, and its apparantly not released yet.

Dancing In The Streets

So I know there are a few of you (Amy) who are wishin' and hopin' that my absence from posting here is because I am frantically whipping up season 2 of Carlton Heights. I'd love to tell you all that is precisely the reason, but I'd be a liar...

Instead my job has moved from our own building on Melrose to the grandiose and acid inducing Pacific Design Center, which I like to call "the mall." Should I happen to say something about a fellow 'store' in the 'mall' I am constantly reminded that they are showrooms in the PDC; so you know I say something about a store in the mall every chance I get. There's nothing like making a bunch of drama queens bob and weave as I dare to tear down their big notions... for a real dose of fun I like to ask where the food court is as I'm just dying for an Orange Julius and a chili dog.

Because I can see the giganticus Pacific Design Center from my house, I find it a tad foolish to drive to work every day and pay for parking so I've opted to get up and walk to work every day - yes in the million and one degree heat that has been wreaking havoc - needless to say the whole thing has made me quite tired...

and then when I get home I take a cold shower, pour a drink and sing sing sing my little heart away. I am this close to wrapping up the new Swivek album and it's getting tiring and infuriating when I can't come up with the finishing touches we need - as in I can't sing the frickin' songs I wrote for myself. I wrote three new songs after three were rejected from the album (damn those powers that are 'not so' flexible) and there are two more I have to redo the vocals for that are giving me the most problems ever. Perhaps it's the heat, perhaps it's the walk home, perhaps it's all the booze, what ever it is, I hope it passes as I am bound and determined to finish up the songs this weekend...

and hopefully sometime by next week, I'll be back to post some more - I do have a ton and ton of new music to review (well new to me anyway) and of course I may have some Swivek news by then, and for all of those dying to read what happens in Carlton Heights (Amy) I will be moving onto that too....

Until then, this is how I spend my big walk to and from work - all three and a half blocks - I strap on some head phones and listen to my birthday present from the Leivas - two weeks before the great IPhone was launched I got this Upstage for my birthday and I'm finally using the music feature, much to the Leivas' happiness, I'm sure. So those of you driving down Santa Monica Boulevard around 8:45 am and 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, I'm the cute blonde, sweating, and dancing up and down the sidewalk, trying not to see the patrons of the gay bars at Happy Hour... well just wave and yell "Hey Brad!"
