I really have to try and keep up with this here bloggy thing. I find it easier to post pix and links than actually write anything but I swear I will get back into it soon.. plus I almost have my final list of the Top 100 Singles of the 90's and the Top 100 Singles of the 00's so those posts will keep us all busy for weeks.
Meanwhile, this past weekend was crazy - on Friday we hosted a dinner party/movie night at our house - organized by my pal K and featuring some of our newest and some of our dearest pals. The whole thing was terribly fun. We watched "Up!" which I had not seen yet and it was very impressive. The food was crazy - Alf bought a bunch of sandwiches from Black Dog Coffee and Devin made some crazy good stew, K brought salads and our friend Ally made some guac that was out of this world. The whole thing didn't end until we went to bed at 5 in the morning. Good times.
Saturday my friends Tommy and Ryan showed up and again we got awesome food. Ryan made us Spanish rice and Pork chops all mixed together and it was great. Then we headed out to Trunks (of course) and had a really good time - though the Leivas ended up leaving early.
Sunday was our normal brunch day and as these brunches tend to go it was crazy. My Val pals Tina and Morgen called while Tommy, Ryan and Alf and I were eating and said they were coming over. So then K joined us at Mickeys and my friend Robbie and my neighbor Mike and of course our newest favorite - Greg the stripper was working. I got home around 8 drunk and frisky... needless to say I went to bed and stayed there until I woke up for work...
I'm going to have to learn how to pace myself ... or not.
When I was a kid one of my big dreams was run in the LA Marathon - alas I discovered booze and the dream sort of died. However, two of my friends had the same dream (incidentally both are originally from Wisconsin) and last Sunday they were in the Marathon. My pal Bill ran the 26 miles and my pal Julie walked it. So we made a big sign that had on one side "Run Bill Run" and on the other "Walk Julie Walk"... of course the best part of it was the fact that only in the WeHo part of the race would they have go go boys - "Dance Stripper Dance"
My pal Geoffrey works for a big party planner and he was rummaging through the endless array of artwork in a back storage room when he came upon a most exciting item. An item he decided I would love (for some strange reason). So here it is, to boast and to make envious - my latest and greatest gift!
Tomorrow the Leivas and I have our last night of the Paley Festival and we get to go to the panel with the cast of Glee! I can not even wait.
After we get over the glittery gals of glee we are heading to the Cat Club to see the glittery shenanigans of Shitting Glitter - hope to see all of you LA kiddies there too! The show starts at 9:30 and as you can see from the pic - the Shitting Glitter band has expanded into something even more exciting....
A few weeks ago we attended the Paley Festival opening night for a panel discussion with the cast and producers of MODERN FAMILY and tonight the fun continues. Tonight, the Leivas and I are going to a night with Seth MacFarlane and Friends - and get this, it's followed up with cocktails with Seth and his gang.
I am going to find out once and for all if Seth owes me money for copyright infringement. I do believe Roger the alien is based on me.
A few weeks ago Alf and I were asked to participate in a new movie that is being made about marriage called "Then Comes Marriage". We went to be filmed and now the first trailer is up. Watch and see how wonderful we are :0) - oh and watch for my pals Tina and Morgen who are a complete riot.
