So don't read too much of this if you haven't watched UNITED STATES OF TARA, NURSE JACKIE, LOST or GLEE yet.. but that's Tuesdays at my house and here's what I have to say:
NURSE JACKIE Again, I just friggin' love some of the characters - Dr. O'Hara is by far and away my ultimate fav. So in the last episode, the cast Jackie made for her daughter caused the kid to accidentally hit herself in the mouth requiring stitches that Dr. O'Hara put on her in the kitchen. The next day at school the teacher had some questions so Jackie and Dr. O'Hara get a town car and take care of biz.. awesome. Zoe had a ton of one liners that were hilarious and Eddie took a date to Kevin's bar where Jackie and Dr. O'Hara were having a drink.. not a good thing.
UNITED STATES OF TARA On Nurse Jackie, she was called out for a few things by the new nurse Sam and on Tara, it seems Tara gets called out for some of her behavior. On top of being in a whole new state of art Tara creates a model house out of Marshall's liar box from last episode, and she pretty much ignores and chastises Max for just being there. At the art show, Tara's house with its bicentenial flag full of detail and her fear of fireworks makes it pretty clear we're close to figuring out what happened to her and Charmaine. Also at the art show, Marshall's new blonde slutty gay pal and the next door neighbor do some drugs in the bathroom and Max finally asks Tara if she may have created another Tara without knowing it and when she starts getting all upset that she just wants one good day, Max finally has it (and I agree with him) that he would like one himself - so he goes off to the tavern where Buck's girlfriend works... this show is so good.
LOST What the f? The whole episode was about Jacob and his still nameless brother. It was really good though as we found out who Adam & Eve were and the white/black rocks, and a little more about the mystery of the island. I just don't know how they're going to get us answers with only 1 one hour episode left and then the 2 hour finale.. but I'm waiting with baited breath.
Finally it was GLEE and like I said last week, I just am not getting into the storylines as much as I am the songs. That is except for Kurt - I love him and his dad. That guy who plays his dad is so good and who knew since all I ever saw him on was YES,DEAR. Once Frankenteen sang "Jessie's Girl" though I became interested and finally both Puck and Mercedes were the stars of the show so all that was good. But again it was really Kurt and his dad that brought me into it. Kurt trying to be butch and straight was pretty typical I think of teen and him trying to do "Pink Houses" as a song that spoke about him was pretty interesting but once he dug into "Rose's Turn" he was back in full fierce. I guess the Glee Club is a sort of therapy, I really should have joined in high school.
And that was Tuesday with the Leivas what did you do?
I know it sounds like my life is full of endless partying and living loose but it's all glam and damn in my La La world, in fact most of my nights are spent having dinner with the hubby and watching endless TV shows.
Tuesday with the Leivas consisted of back to back Shotime shows, with "Nurse Jackie" and "The United States Of Tara" - which if you aren't watching you really should. "Nurse Jackie" is kind of a crap shoot with me, I love love some of the characters and practically loathe some of the others - Jackie's husband has turned into a jackass and her pharmacist boyfriend is crazy and dirty.. but her pal Dr. O'Hara kicks ass and I love her.
"The United States Of Tara" stars Toni Collette as a mother and wife with disassociate order and the last episode kicked ass culimating with her teenage gay son actually standing up and telling everyone what he thinks of them - he, it would appear, is the most normal of the bunch. But Toni Collette knocked it out of the ball park as usual.
Then it was a new episode of "Lost" which I won't spoil but let's just say I am PISSED! I cried and cried and then got pissed some more... only a few episodes left and it is good but boy did they make me sad and mad...
then a new "Glee" with special guest star Olivia Newton-John. Anyone who knows me knows I hold Miss ONJ in the highest regard but bitch should not mess with her face. She looks like she stepped out of Rodeo Drive with her new LA Face. It's not becoming at all. But at least she can still sing and she was pretty hilarious listing off all of her accomplishments. Plus her new version of "Physical" with Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) auto tuned beyond any possible recognition was still cool. Plus the "Run Joey Run" song and of course one of my all time favs "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" were cool. Too bad the storytelling is getting so horrid.. I am pretty close to givien up on it.
And that my friends was my Tuesday - what'd you do?
Tomorrow the Leivas and I have our last night of the Paley Festival and we get to go to the panel with the cast of Glee! I can not even wait.
After we get over the glittery gals of glee we are heading to the Cat Club to see the glittery shenanigans of Shitting Glitter - hope to see all of you LA kiddies there too! The show starts at 9:30 and as you can see from the pic - the Shitting Glitter band has expanded into something even more exciting....
I went to the dentist today and as I've stated before (and will again and again) I hate the dentist. If the actual act of having someone fingering around inside my head isn't bad or gross enough, the bill at the end of it all drives me nuts. Why oh why can't my teeth be pretty all on their own? Well no matter that I can't sip water without running it all the way down my shirt, it still reminds me of one of my favorite things - the Pat Benatar video for Anxiety, so let's enjoy it together okay?
I don't know how many of you are watching Glee, but it really is a great little show and a few episodes back they did a little song and dance number to "Say A Little Prayer" which seems to be the biggest thing to hit the You Tube waves since Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and here is my ultimate favorite rendition:
I spend way too much time online reading various blogs - there's DListed - with its wry sassy celebrity bitches, and www.towleroad.com for both celebrity mongering and politics, and Pam's House Blend for LGBT politics, and now I have a new favorite here is http://www.goodasyou.org/ a gay political news blog run by a guy named Jeremy Hooper. I read it every day and like he says it's a new wave of gay politics.. check it out if you so desire.
I guess with Labor Day, the summer is officially over though I happen to live in the land of perpetual sunshine so it's not really over for me.... but that doesn't mean the Leivas and I won't be curling up together in front of the boob tube (more than usual anyway) and tonight is the beginning of a 2-fer on Wednesdays...
My fav summer series So You Think You Can Dance is now coming to fall TV and the premiere is on tonight - so you guys have enough advance warning to check it out - it is THE best of the reality competition shows, it's just really good and entertaining...
and then (gasp) then (gasp) is the premiere of Glee - The Series, it debuted last May with a one night show and it was so FRICKIN' GOOD - I can't even tell you how entertaining this series about a high school glee club is - it is so brillz it even has Jane Lynch as a bitchy cheerleading coach.. you're going to love it... and for all kinds of Glee Goodness check out their website where you can even watch last may's first episode in its entirety.. and check out the show tonight - they're both on FOX starting at 8/7 central time...
