A Few Of My Favorite Things

First and foremost on this week's list of a FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS is Happy Hour! How I love happy hour. For years and years (I maybe exaggerating) my pal and I would have Monday Night Amy Cissell Happy Hour which sometimes wasn't even on Monday, and surely didn't last only an hour but always always involved Amy Cissell and the Fiesta Cantina. Now that I walk to work and half to walk past all the West Hollywood bars on my way home, I sometimes dream my pal Amy Cissell will be sitting at Fiesta as I walk by - which of course means I would turn around and walk right into that bar... Last night as I walking home, my pals Howie, Pachuli and Scott were sitting right there at Fiesta, so imagine my sheer delight as I joined them For Wednesday Night Howie Pachuli Scott Happy Hour

In my big TV screening post of yesterday I forgot three very important shows that I also watch including "Chuck" which is exciting and hilarious, "Sordid Lives" which is funny and full of Livvie and the Thursday night glory known as "Ugly Betty" which has its season 3 premiere tonight! and finally, this may seem a bit weird to you all - but only if you don't really know me I think. A few years ago it occured to me I had some random Crystal Gayle songs on my computer and after listening to them, I was pulled back to being a kid when my mom used to have the 8 tracks for When I Dream and Miss The Mississippi, Crystal's 1978 & 1979 albums respectively.

It was then that I started conjuring up all the big hits Miss Gayle had during the late 70s and 80's and realized I do love her. So when a 2 for CD of her albums We Must Believe In Magic and When I Dream came out last year I bought it, and then to my utter shock, dismay and I hate to admit it, excitement, all of her albums from 1979 through 1989 have been released on CD as two fers - I am not ashamed (and I don't care who knows it) to admit that I bought all four of the CDs so I now have on CD - Miss The Missisippi & These Days, Hollywood, Tennessee & True Love, Cage The Songbird & Nobody Wants To Be Alone and Straight To The Heart & Nobody's Angel... and they all come with all the lyrics and liner notes and in remastered sound.. plus I didn't even pay all that much for them, and to me they're priceless.... don't you judge me or I may just have to burn you some Crystal and you won't be laughing for long..

Systematic Viruses

It's another weekend coming up and once again I have not let a single reader (That's you my one reader I'm talking to) what's been going on... no random photo, no bubbatunes, and no Brad life stories.. but hey what can I say, I've been busy.

Last weekend we had a fly in whirlwind Amy Cissell time as my pal flew in from Portland and we had a great time. We shopped at Target, we drank at Fiesta Cantina and Trunks, we shopped at Amoeba Records and drank and ate at El Reboso (I think that's the name of it) and then she was gone...poof like she had never even been there. Though our girl was fighting a cold virus and unfortunetly for the Leivas that virus stuck around and now he's sick... I tell you if there's a person who sneezes within 18 blocks of the man he's going to get sick.

And speaking of viruses, my computer at work hates me. Well actually my computer at home hates me as well, but when we moved to our new location I was given a brand new computer as my last one crashed and crashed due to the insane amount of viruses found on it. So when I got the new computer I vowed I wouldn't go to any strange websites or download anything. I have been so good and then today I get an announcement from the Spyware thingie jobbie (see how technical I am) that I have two viruses the downloader and the trojan, which if you do any research seems to imply I am pretty much fucked. How I tell my boss about this sitch is a whole different dilemma. I swear I didn't do anything, all I do is check my email, do a little shopping on Musicstack.com and go to Myspace, which is who I'm blaming this one. Cissell gets credit for the Leivas virus and I blame My Space for the trojan left behind.

For big news, here is what I'm planning this weekend - well after a Saturday with my gal pal Jen where we will watch Knots Landing, listen to Lisa Hartman records and watch Deborah Foreman movies - then on Sunday my new fav band Shitting Glitter is having a show that is going to be filmed for LOGO so I could finally end up on GAYTV just like I deserve.

By the way the other band playing - Swivel is not Swivek - though I must say maybe I'll end up getting booked to places by someone using the k instead of the l... we'll see how that works.

And if you're here in La La Land - be sure to come out to the club on Sunday night - even The Leivas plans on going and that's something almost unheard of!

Hummity drummity

I had kind of promised myself I would write a little more on this blog thing as for once in my somewhat hum drum life I've actually been doing things, but as it is, I just get too busy with that stupid thing called work, but rest assured I've got some great stories to tell in the upcoming weeks... well maybe not great but stories none the less.

Halloween kicked my ass right into the month of November but thankfully I'm feeling a tad better today and just in time too cuz tomorrow my favoritest happy hour drinkin' pal is coming into town - all the way from Portland. That's right Amy Cissell Happy Hour Night will be back in full swing - for one weekend anyway. So if you want to see me and the best Cissell in the world, head on down to the fiesta Cantina tomorrow afternoon/evening and join us for margarittas and some Mexi food... you know you want to!

Wanted : Drinking Buddy

12 DAYS UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY

At the beginning of July, I will have new digs for work.. my company has sold our building for an astronomical amount to some dude and his financiers who are trying to turn the design area of Melrose Avenue into a Rodeo/ Robertson type of Beverly Hills clothing shop stuff, so everyone is selling and moving... as for me and my company we are headed to the Pacific Design Center, which is essentially a mall of epic proportions full of antique and reproduction furniture, rugs, arts and all around interior designers stuff... the only thing I'm really looking forward to is the fact that there will be other people working in this mall environment so I may finally find myself a new Amy Cissell Happy Hour Drinking Buddy - (damn you Amy for leaving me!!! I'm keeping the name and someone else will just have to be Amy Cissell from 5-9 pm) One can hope anyway, as I will be walking to and from work which means I have to walk by at least 3 gay bars on my way home.. I have to make friends fast, and if anyone wants to audition, well I'm up for slamming a few right about now..
