Hot Bastage Of The Week
It seems I may be running out of contemporary hot bastages and since Paul Rudd can't be my hot bastage every week, we're going back to one of my very first crushes ever.
He was hot in 1981 when he was appearing on his album covers in a white wife beater and turning me on and he's still hot 20 some years later. In fact when I got his latest CD The Leivas wondered if there was a lot of photo shop done or if he still looked that good. Well according to my obsessive pal Jen he is still hawt. Not to mention I've been listening to his latest albums and he's still rocking only now he's bitter... any guesses yet?
Okay today's hottie brought us Jesse's Girl and a whole lot of panting - it's

Camarooon!
Okay it's only been a day but I'm already in the heebees cuz
RuPaul's Drag Race is over! Now I'm not really into reality shows, in fact I hate them. I can't stand to look inside other people's lives and listen to them whine, bitch and make fools of themselves - I mean, I have a mirror I see how people act... but then there's an exception here and there - you all know I love So You Think You Can Dance! and then there was Tuckerville, but then came RuPaul and her show to find the next great drag queen.
The whole cast was great, and watching some backstab and bitch (Rebecca Glasscock I'm talking to you) and be elitist (miss Shanelle - though DListed said she'd be perfect as one of the Housewives of the OC and I can't disagree). The challenges were great and the costumes were vavoom, and to top it all off - my ultimate fav won!
Miss BeBe or
Cameroooon! as RuPaul would call her.
After the final show on Monday, they ran a reunion special that was just tits up faboo. With the return of one of the kookiest and great gals Tammie Brown who actually had a bit of a bitch fest with Ru. It was great with Tammie declaring everyone was so negative and when pushed she told the judges, "I don't see you out there walking children in nature." I just about busted a gut! What the f does it mean? All I know is it now my ultimate fav quote and I plan on using it all the time!
If you haven't watched
RuPaul's Drag Race you simply have to - all the episodes are online and even though I busted out who the winner is, you still have to see all the fuss - and there's going t to be a second season so fasten your seatbelts!

Such a Pansy
Whew! This weekend was one hoot after another, and you all know how much I love my hoots.
On Friday, I accidentally stumbled into two bottles of wine and made periodic phone calls to people and then on Saturday, the Leivas and I hit Big 5 Sports so we could buy some little water shoes for our big trip to the Mexi Riviera next month, and then my pal Marc and I headed up to Book Soup where Jon Giloni from Pansy Division was going to read from his autobiographry and do a couple of songs...
that's right Pansy Division has a bunch of new items coming out - first there's the autobiography which from what Jon read and what I've read so far is awesome - any of us who are a little off kilter from the big gay scene as in the club thumping and E taking will enjoy this jaunt about another one of us who had more in common with the Ramones than Judy Garland and Beyonce.
Then next week comes a video directed by Chris Freeman all about the band and gasp! A brand new album called That's So Gay.
Because Marc rox we got to hang a bit with both Chris and Jon as Marc is old pals with Chris. It was super cool and the new songs are super cool including my new all time fav track "Pat Me On The Ass". Luckily for us there were advances of the vid and the CD so I'm in the know kiddies...
then Saturday night was the new monthly get together by Shitting Glitter HOT PURSUIT that included not only SG but Slowmo Erotic, a super fun little band, Alaska Thunderfuck in all her glory and an a crazy band called That's What She Said which was a complete riot. I have to say it's so cool to have pals that are so talented and doing what they love....

A Few Of My Favorite Things
This week has been a bit of a beatch, though I must say I am finally feeling better and it's probably because of my new favorite thing:Echinaecia - it's a wonder herb I tell you = okay I'm not really sucking on the flower but I did start taking it in pill form and I'm not saying it's the only reason my cough and cold went away but I bet it certainly helped.
and then in order to make myself feel a little better while the Leivas runs downstairs to work out, I like to pour a glass of milk and
eat my thin mints. That's how I roll
and finally
Oh my gawd! I'm so glad someone found this little clip because it is pure genius. Collected is a whole slew of some of the best and most awesome scenes from my beloved Knots Landing show - done by some very excellant character actors! You have to see it to believe it - and if you're a fan of the show you're going to just about die because the one queen can get Joan Van Ark's mannerisms down like well, like Joan Van Ark!

In This Life
Ugh! For the last two frickin' weeks I've been sick and it doesn't seem to be getting better. So finally I went to the doctor who told me I just had a lingering cold. He gave me some Cough Syrup with yummy yummy Kodine in it and some nasal spray. But it's driving me nuts. In fact I think this just might be the end. I'm going to be having a dry cough for the rest of my days and everyday is going to be the same, I'll get up spray my nose, go to work, come home take my Kodine fall asleep on the sofa, wake up and eat dinner, watch TV and go to bed. Yes, living la vida loca is what I'm all about.
Meanwhile, today the Supreme Court of California is hearing the arguments on Prop 8. Hopefully when it's all said and done, I will still be married and all gay people will be able to get married in California as well. Of course the only real way it's all going to be equal is when the Federal government realizes that DOMA is bullshit and should be revoked. It feels so nice to fill out a joint tax form for state and have to file differently for the Federal government because my marriage isn't recognized as legal.
You can watch the proceedings on the net and on TV - I found
this link to watch what's going on but I'm sure there are others.
and I have to mention that Lynda Carter - Wonder Woman if you're nasty - is back to performing and singing. Anyone my age who loved the woman will remember she had a ton of TV specials in the late 70's and early 80's where she sang and she even recorded an album in 1978. Well now she has a new album of standards coming out and she's performing in LA the next three days at the Catalina Jazz Club. I haven't bought tickets yet because of my friggin' cough. As it's such a small venue and she'll probably be performing with only a piano accompienment, I'm afraid my cough is going to ruin her whole set. We'll see how this illness goes (though I seriously think I have that Stephen King The Stand flu)... but for all you here in La La Land well enough to go -
