What 2 Do
So very sorry for not writing as of late but it suddenly occured to me I have a bunch of self induced projects going on. First and foremost I'm still working on that damn new Swivek album, but with all the work going into it I can tell you it's going to be good. I even wrote three new songs in the last few weeks so things are a rocking. Obviously with next week being Thanksgiving and Christmas only a few weeks away, I'm pushing the date for Everybody Hates You to next year... but it will be sometime in the early parts. This gives me the extra time to fine tune the songs I am definitely including, finally figure out the track list - there are 8 songs for absolute sure - "Everybody Hates You", "Art Attacks", "Wounded", "Rock Hard", "Fabulous", "Cry Baby", "This Is A Town" and "Suck Out The Sun" -
luckily the only reason I can't come up with a definite track list is I like all 23 (yes 23!) songs I recorded for the album... and I'm going to have my pal Jules come over and add her angelic voice to some harmony on a few songs and since she's as busy as a busy busy b, I'll be lucky if she can hit the mic before New Year's.... plus with the extra time we can make a video or two! I really want to shoot a cool (as cool as cheap can be) for the next single which will be "Rock Hard"... I also am sending some songs over to my ingenius godson/nephew Z who makes videos with his friends so he can whip up a Swivek video...
Then I just realized I HAVE to go Christmas shopping this weekend or anyone not in my immediate residency won't get their Christmas presents on time. Luckily, I found some cool things for my little nephew - he's fun to shop for.
and for almost two years now I've been promising the second (and final) season of Carlton Heights, and I have my notes all together and the first episode almost complete, but it just takes me a bit to get back into it.. and everytime I hit the computer I end up working on music. So once that's wrapped up we'll be good to go.
And then there's that little Bubbatunes CD re-release project that is never ending.. hopefully I will have a couple more before year's end including a few more Kim Wilde CDs, two Cheryl Ladd CDs, Scott Baio, Kirsty MacColl and a few more... I know what would you do without my odd taste in tunage...
and for the Cher fan who loved "Prisoner" and was looking for more Cher, I have to search out the blog with "Take Me Home" on it, but I'm sure it's here somewhere and as for the other Cher albums on CD, they're still a coming - sometime in the future, I plan on putting, "Stars", "I'd Rather Believe In You", "Allman & Woman" and "Cherished" on CD and a compilation of Cher Misses (the songs that just didn't hit)...
Alright I'm off to find something to do... but will be next week with more posts ( I swear )

Day Without A Gay
About a year ago there was a movie with that hottie tottie John Stamos called The Wedding Wars. In it, John is a gay wedding planner who is planning his brother's wedding, well the brother is a senator or something and decides gays shouldn't be married so John sets out to get all the people worked up and there is a gay rights revolt with gays walking out of their jobs and going on strike. I thought it was great... though there was also a movie a few years called "A Day Without Mexicans" which was similar and there was the real life day all the immigrant workers took the day off to protest to show how valuable they were..Well now the Jointheimpact.com people are putting together a true to life strike - thanks also in part to straight writer Joel Stein in an article in the LA Times and he went so far as to get Kathy Griffen to be the spokeswhore for it... So here is the latest: The worldwide media attention surrounding our massive grassweb efforts for gay rights has been tremendous. Join the Impact was a HUGE success and will continue to thrive because of our efforts. We've reacted to Prop 8 with anger, with resolve, and with courage.
NOW, it's time to show America and the world how we love. Gay people and our allies are compassionate, sensitive, caring, mobilized, and programmed for success. A day without gays
would be tragic because it would be a day without love.
On December 10, 2008 the gay community will take a historic stance against hatred by donating love to a variety of different causes.
On December 10, you are encouraged not to call in sick to work. You are encouraged to call in "gay"--and donate your time to service!
December 10, 2008 is International Human Rights Day.

More Disappointments
It seems I just can't win these days - First the whole H8 thing still has me on edge, so much so I've yet to fully embrace the happiness of having Obama as president. Then I was going to post my new favorite things yesterday and found out one of them is going to be gone...
LIPSTICK JUNGLE - was a little soap that started last season starring Lindsay Price, Brooke Shields and Kim Raver as three friends in New York City. Based on a book by the hack who brought us
Sex In The City, I was actually very entertained by the series. The friendship of the three leads was light years way more believable than that of those desperate hags. (Though I still watch the damn show). Plus it had Andrew McCarthy in it and I have always loved him. The character of Nico (Raver) had a young hot lover then her husband had a heart attack, Wendy (Brooke) was the head of a movie studio and this season has a facially abused Mary Tyler Moore (I love her) as her mother, and Victory was a fashion designer and dating billionaire.
It had a bit of
Knots Landing in it for me because of the added humor and actual believablity of the characters - no ting ting ting music like
Desparate to let you know the part is funny. Just real life women hanging out and living life - but alas like anything I like it was announced yesterday that the show is cancelled - so look for the DVDs soon!
Then I got my new
Rolling Stone the other day with their list of the top 100 Rock Singers and I just about stabbed my eyes while looking through the list. I agree with quite a few but umm (and I know I'm biased) where in the f*****k is
Pat Benatar - the only person who has won 4 Grammys in a row for Best ROCK performance VOCAL! Not to mention the fact she can sing and sing and chose to use her high octave voice to sing rock - and where is
DEBBIE HARRY! And where is
Ann Wilson from Heart! You too can read the list and realize the injustice once again done to your poor Bradley.

Get Up On It
This song may be three years old but it's even more poignant today:GET UP ON IT
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's face the music
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's hit the road
Get Up On It
Come on now - it's a revolution
Get Up On It
Come on now - hey, let's go
Feeling groovy, feel like fun
Feeling moody, gonna get me a gun
In the sh*** towns where they sleep
Dreams of hatred running so deep
We can do it, we can break them
We can beat them, yeah we can make them
Sick of losing, feel like a fool
They're so stupid and we're so cool
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's face the music
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's hit the road
Get Up On It
Come on now - it's a revolution
Get Up On It
Come on now - hey, let's go
Hit the highway, sea to sea
Take it back what they're taking from me
Make them realize, we'll let them know
We won't stand by and watch their hatred grow
We can do it, we can take them
We can beat them, yeah we can break them
Sick of losing, feel like a fool
They're so stupid and we're so cool
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's face the music
Get Up On It
Come on now - let's hit the road
Get Up On It
Come on now - it's a revolution
Get Up On It
Come on now - hey, let's go
Get Up On It
Come on now -
Join the revolution
Get Up On It
Hey, hey let's go!

Nation Wide Protest Against H8
This is a prote
st for everyone....not just california. Please go to the website below and help protest....FOR OUR CIVIL RIGHTS!!! Here's a link: http://jointheimpact.com/protest-locations/
Saturday Nov.
15th 10:30 PST / 1:30 EST
Join us to protest INEQUALITY and make an impact!
JoinTheImpact.
com is calling YOU to rally for one large national protest against hate!
go to JoinTheImpact.com to check locations in a city near you.
When we all come together as one voice on November 15th, we will show the nation that we can do more than just talk, we can act! We won't solve everything in one protest, but we will fuel the fire to a conversation that can not be silenced! If we stop talking about equality for all, then we will lose the battle. If we allow others to stop talking about it, then we will lose. Hate is not the lack of love, it's the fear of that which we do not know. This protest along with many others gives us the chance to build on the conversation and educate the masses.
It's very simple: Infiltrate, Educate, and STOP HATE
(PLEASE RE-POST AND HELP US FIGHT HATE)Labels: Gay Rights, My Big Gay Wedding, No on 8, Protest
A Little Bit Of Adorableness
With all the icky and ugliness in the world I thought it was time to look at something a bit more upbeat, a bit more fun and a whole lot of adorable... No, not more pictures of me... instead it's pix of my little nephew Evan in his Halloween costume. He's such a little stinker! And that little face could light up the whole frickin' world. (if you want my completey unbiased opinion.)

A True Turnblad
Okay, let me start by saying yesterday (and a bit still today) I was so upset about this whole prop 8 shit (yes I said it, shit) and almost left work because I could not think about anything else (and also cuz I'm a big tit baby so I'd almost bawl like a baby when I thought of it) and then after reading the internet all day long looking for some kind of comfort, I found out there was going to be a protest rally in West Hollywood at 7 pm.
So I went to my first protest/rally ever. I felt just like
Tracey Turnblad -
"integration now/segregation never!" plus I have put on a few pounds. Regardless of my size, it was really emotional for me. A lawyer spoke who told us that (just like Jerry Brown - attorney general has said) that anyone who was married while the marriage law was in effect are and will still be married.. but until Gloria Allred tells me that's the case I'm still walking on eggshells.
Also, it has bugged the shit out of me that like 70% Black and 60% of the Latino populations voted y on 8 (I can't bring myself to even write the prop) !!!! What the ...
John Duran stated something I thought was important - the fact that everyone has been on the bottom rung of the ladder. Our stories may not be the same but the results are the same. I may not be discriminated against because I'm black but I can tell you that there is no doubt in the world that I know exactly what it feels like to be discriminated against and not just with this vote, but all the way back to the playground taunts to the drunken rednecks. One black woman told a black lesbian at a polling place (who had the No on 8 signs) that her kind was not wanted. Gee, how those 40 years since the days of Martin Luther King have flown.
There was also a great sign - 'HOW CAN A RELIGION OF FEW, CONTROL THE GOVERNMENT OF ALL?' and a few more good quotes (from Lorrie Jean I think) - "the people who voted yes for 8 can have their victory but it will be fleeting as THEY ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY..." I love that last part.
The rally really rallied me up - I felt empowered and it obviously did the same for others as the protesters left the safe confines of the roped off San Vicente Road and began marching through West Hollywood and beyond.
I went to my pal Amy's house for her birthday and when I was walking home (around midnight) there were still marchers a marching... and today - they are going to one group of people who had A LOT to do with the YES business - that's right those weird ass full body underwear polygamist loving Mormons! At 2 pm today, there is going to be a protest outside the temple on Santa Monica Boulevard... I am loving this!
I am trying to be more upbeat but let me tell you this is still irking me something insane.. so I am going to keep doing what I can... and so should you! JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL and EQUAL RIGHTS ARE EQUAL RIGHTS...

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU
I'm sure everyone knows by now, but prop 8 the discriminatory, bigoted, piece of SH****T proposition to declare marriage as only between man and woman has passed making it impossible for gay couples to marry and could more than likely take away the marriages of over 18,000 couples who were married since the Supreme Court (THE FRICKIN SUPREME COURT WHOSE JOB IT IS TO EVALUATE THE CONSTITUTION) deemed it illegal to not include gay marraige. One of those couples is the oh so blatantly awful, devil spawned couple you see on my page.
This whole thing just makes me want to puke and I'm not even kidding, I may have to leave work and go home because I just don't feel so good. But there is still some things that might be able to be done. According to NO on 8 the provisions haven't been counted yet which could include at least 3 million more votes (???) I don't know if this is true, but you could help out by calling. Here's what No on 8 said -
Keep the pressure on them to count all the provisional and absentee ballots (rumored to be up to 3 or 4 million!) !
Call the secretary of state today!
CA secretary of state:
(916) 657-2166, or you can lodge a recorded complaint by calling 1-800-345-VOTE
So give them a call - and to anyone who voted YES on 8 and are my friends - fuck off I don't like you, I don't respect you and I certainly don't want to see or hear from you - and for those who voted YES on 8 and somehow stumble upon my blog - fuck off I don't like you any more than you like me, but unlike you I do realize you are a human being though a demented one and someday, someway you will realize how very very wrong you were to deny and to hate... and as always I blame Patricia Heaton cuz she's just a homophobic bitch.
