A Few Of My Favorite Things

This week's favorite things are a potpourri of things from people to TV to holidays -

So what are my favorite things this week? First and foremost THE VOTE NO ON 8 PROTESTERS! I love these guys, hanging out on the sidewalk with big signs. This week they've been on the corner of Santa Monica and San Vicente with two guys in tuxes joining them today. It makes me so proud to live here when I hear all the horns beeping in support as they drive by on their way to work and such. One woman on a bicycle even rang her little bell in support. This makes me happy for obvious reasons but also because two scary instances recently hit me - one we drove to the godforsaken place known as the Valley (Burbank) to buy a computer and there on someone's front lawn was a HUGE YES ON 8 sign. I told the Leivas to stop the car cause I was going to go rip it out of the lawn and beat the person with it. He did not stop.

Then on my way to work about a week ago parked on the street in my neighborhood - the heart of gay friendly West Hollywood some loser had a yes on 8 bumper sticker. I told the Leivas I was going to come back and put a no on 8 sticker over it - he wouldn't let me..

and finally the No on 8 people rang me up to make sure I was voting NO, I told them I was recently married and both my husband and I would be voting NO, and then they wanted me to sign up to inform people on election day, I told them I worked all day but they are persistant and keep calling me... I can't do it though - they want me to go to Long Beach, and I work until 5 o'clock and then have to go vote myself, by the time I would get to Long Beach voting would be over - so to all those (including some of my best pals) that are doing their best to get the word out - you are my FAVORITE THING this week...

Then there's good old HALLOWEEN - I love Halloween - even though every single year I wait until the very last minute to come up with a costume. This year's costume is going to be such a surprise - I don't even know what it is yet. But tonight is the big WEST HOLLYWOOD HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL - and the costumes people come up with are so frickin' amazing, it's something everyone has to attend at least once.

and finally - ROGER from the TV series American Dad! is such a complete riot I can't help but put him on my list. It appears that some people (my husband and my friend Luther) insist this would be Uncle Arthur (from Bewitched) dressed as an alien reminds them of ME! So perhaps I sense next year's Halloween costume. Here's a clip:

My Big Gay Wedding 2 - The Video

I know you guys were all idly sitting by, twirling your twirlers waiting for this so here it is - the most intimate, lovely little thing a person can share with the whole wide world web - my wedding ceremony... it's a long ass 4 minutes so I hope you have time to watch it...

I also want to thank every single person that attended the wedding, as I have yet to send out those thank you emails... It really was cool to come around the corner and see all of our friends plus Alf's parents and sister there to celebrate.. and speaking of which once we're hitched in the video watch my pal Amy's reactions.. she's as excited (if not more so) than we were... and also see if you can pin point the moment when I start welling up and can't decide where to look just to keep from bawling like the big tit baby I am...

without further ado - THERE GOES THE BRAD - MY WEDDING CEREMONY ON VIDEO (filmed by my pal Geoff)

BubbaTUNESday - All Kinds Of Special

This week is a very special week here at BubbaTUNESday - as the brand new P!nk CD comes out today - which I've been putting off listening to (since it's on the web right now) and instead will be heading my cha cha heels over to Virgin after work to pick it up! Which is where I have to veer off and bitch a minute, back when Tower Records still existed and was located just up the hill from my house, it would be Tuesdays like this that I would head over there BEFORE WORK and pick up the newest releases and thus I could spend all day listening to my new CDs, and now I have to haul my cookies all the way to Hollywood to get a new CD - I know my life can suck!

In other music news (that is what BubbaTUNESday is all about), I recieved the most exciting news ever - Lisa Hartman is finally coming out on CD. Well kind of. You see way back in 1988 her album Til My Heart Stops was actually released on CD by Atlantic Records. These days that CD goes for like $100 sometimes on Ebay and the like.. luckily I found a copy for only $26 and bought the sucker.. but now everyone can own it and not just in Bubbatunes version.. as Wounded Bird Records is re-releasing Til My Heart Stops next month! Here's the little blurb from Wounded Bird's website:
Lisa Hartman/'Til My Heart Stops ....CD $11.99
Lisa Hartman is known a as a country singer, an actress and as the wife of country singer Clint Black. She has only issued a few albums over the years, but one of them, 'Til My Heart Stops', has been one of Wounded Bird's most requested CDs to bring back to the fold. It was originally issued on Atlantic Records in 1987.

and you can preorder at Amazon!

But now onto some even better news - Halloween is my ultimate favorite Holiday and making music is one of my all time favorite loves, and luckily when Flexible Records was around my pal Mr. Flex Rex himself, Patrick would get all of his bands from the roster of Flex to do a Halloween compilation (instead of those oh so boring Christmas comps most people do) and Swivek was on each and every one of them (there were only 3 really) ... but since Flex Rex is no longer and it's almost Halloween, I thought I'd let YOU, my fan (s?) relive those awesome Swivek Halloween songs with one added bonus!

Yes that's right I said bonus, you see last year when Patrick came up with Musik Fer Spinnen, the 2007 Halloween comp, I submitted an electro clash version of the old murder anthem "Banks Of The Ohio" but I had actually also completed an original that I didn't give to him, so keeping in the tradition of a new Swivek Halloween song you can listen to "The Night", it's on My Space and you can run your digits over there and give it a gander.
As for the other SWIVEK HALLOWEEN SONGS here they are:

the electro clash "Banks Of The Ohio" from Musik For Spinnen (2007)

the creepy "Stalker" from Black Rubber Bats (2006)

and my favorite, a fun little zombie love song "Crypt Keeper" from Ghastly! (2005)

Enjoy bwahhhhhhh

Back To The La La La

Well we did it - I went and got myself hitched. We even flew to San Francisco for a honeymoon and lived to tell our tale. And a tale I shall tell - soon, very soon. I'm going through our pictures, plus we are buying a new computer (with our wedding gift money ooh la la la) and will be downloading the video. Plus my bestest pal Luther took a ton of pix and Dylan took an additional video so there will be plenty to see and hear once I get my shizz back together... so stay tuned for more of MY BIG GAY WEDDING!

Hot Bastage Of The Week

This week's hot bastage is one that keeps me coming back to the CW network week after week... he broods, he cracks jokes, he listens to hard rock ditties like AC/DC and last week Billy Squier, he fights demons, he may even have been saved by a brooding angel, yes, it's downright supernatural how hot he is, and let me tell you there is a monster I'd like to see unleashed (ha! I couldn't help it) it's that pouty crabass Dean Winchester from Supernatural - the hot so hot he burns - JENSEN ACKLES.
